ark bradford
ark bradford is a citywide conversation about the climate crisis.
It is being developed with local artists, organisations, and communities across the city.

How is an ark a way of talking about the climate crisis?
The story of people building a boat to save themselves from a flood is found in many cultures and histories. Today, during our climate emergency, the "flood" affects people differently. For some, it is rising sea levels. For others, it is economic uncertainty or displacement. The challenges we face can take many forms...
How are we doing it?
We're aiming to collaborate with a variety of groups to explore important questions about our community and climate:
-
Not-for-profit food organisations
-
Culture and heritage institutions
-
Artists
-
Community organisers
-
Businesses
-
Academics
We want to work with these partners to organise a range of community-driven activities. These include warm and welcoming meals, workshops, public events, and more. As part of these activities, we will ask the following questions so that we can better understand how climate change is affecting our city:
What form does the flood take for you?
How will you create your ark?
What would you take with you?
What should we leave behind?
What can you do?
You are invited to join us for walks, take part in workshops, attend complimentary meals, and contribute your voice as we answer these questions. All activities, meals, and events are free to attend.
